WANTED: One young leading lady to lead the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion to the City of Emeralds to meet the Wizard of Oz this Easter! This could be your opportunity to star as Dorothy in a professional production of THE WIZARD OF OZ at the North Pier Theatre this Easter!

 

A brand new professional production of The Wizard Of Oz is heading to Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre for the Easter holiday season and the producers are searching for a young leading lady to play the role of Dorothy. Whoever lands the role will find themselves on stage alongside Big Brother star Grace Adams-Short and comedian Jolly Goode with a great professional supporting cast.

 

The chosen artist will perform at Blackpool’s North Pier Theatre from Saturday 30th March until Saturday 13th April (excluding Mondays and Tuesday).

 

Producer Kevin Brown today issued a call to find the perfect cast member for the leading role: “This is a great opportunity for a young person to gain more experience working with a professional theatre company.”

 

Director Reece Sibbald added, “Dorothy is a vulnerable girl with great dreams and progressively throughout the show her character blossoms along with her confidence. We’re looking for a “triple threat”; a singer, actress and a dancer all in one. The lucky star-of-tomorrow really should have the ‘x-factor’.”

 

Audition forms must be filled in online at http://www.trio-entertainment.co.uk/auditions.html and applications will close on Thursday 28th February at 5pm. Auditions will be held at the North Pier Theatre on Sunday 3rd March.

 

Are you the perfect Dorothy?

 

Wannabe Dorothy’s must over the age of 16 with “a superb voice”.

 

They must be prepared to sing a ballad and possibly an up-tempo song of their choice for their audition.

 

Potential leading ladies will be required to learn the audition script in a bid to impress show bosses.

 

They must wear a close-fitting dress or dance wear and bring along their own personal backing track (in CD format).

 

Anyone interested must be able to attend rehearsals in Liverpool from Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th March and be available to perform at all performances.
